Barbara Jacobson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Lynn Jacobson (nee Scollon) age 64 on April 3, 2014.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Ernie; daughters, Shelley and Lisa; grandchildren, Jeremy, Chloe, Sean and Aaron; sisters and brothers, Wendy, Gail, Phil, and Kevin; sons-in-law, Carlos and Michael.

Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She would stop anything to spend time with all four … each grandchild having a special and extraordinary bond with her.

Barb touched many lives with her family and friends, and through her professional work in Post-Secondary education. She will always be remembered for her strong leadership, kindness, feisty personality, and her love of a good glass of single malt scotch.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the Tertiary Palliative Care Unit 43 at the Grey Nuns Hospital for all the comfort and support they provided her and her family.

A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the University of Alberta Faculty Club, 11435 Saskatchewan Drive, Edmonton, AB.

In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the Edmonton Humane Society, 13620 – 163 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5V 0B2.
