Robert "Uncle Bob" Meyers passed away at the age of 89 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-laws: Georgette Moser of Edmonton, Alberta and Doris Demers of Laguna Woods, California as well as numerous nieces and nephews (great and great-great).
Bob was predeceased by his loving wife Rose on March 22, 1993.
Bob served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1939 to 1945 as a tail gunner stationed in the South Pacific. Bob was a member of Canada's 1952 Edmonton Mercury Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Team and worked many years at Waterloo Motors until his retirement in 1989. In 1963 Bob played on the Royal Canadian Legion Curling Team that won both Provincial and National titles. Both Bob and Rose were avid curlers and golfers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Royal Canadian Legion Kingsway Branch #175, 14339-50 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to a Charity of One’s Choice.
