Buzz’s final doxology is finished. Our precious husband, father and grandfather has departed to his final reward in Heaven. Buzz had a self-described wonderful life, full of adventure, worship and great love.
He immigrated to Canada in 1959, taking small opportunities and growing a great career. Working hard and heeding good advice led to better and better opportunities.
His childhood sweetheart Karin followed him to Canada in 1960. They took excellent opportunity of their beloved new country, especially exploring the mountains. These passions have passed to his grand kids, which were another source of joy.
Buzz loved music, and has accompanied worship at Inglewood CRC for 42 years on his beloved pipe organ. His robust playing led to spirited singing, which he did for many congregations and weddings. His music was his worship, and he helped many to lift praise thru his service.
His deepest earthly joy lay in his beloved wife Karin, daughter Ger (Gord) Klootwyk, son Hank (Denise), and grandchildren Lynette, Angus, Carmen, Kyle, Madeline and Willem. He delighted in listening to the joyful cacophony of our family. His church family has also been invaluable support throughout his life. There was always humour and hospitality in the Van Weelden home.
Deep thanks to Dr. Tim Kolotyluk, Roberta, pharmacists, and all of the other kind medical staff and our mighty prayer team.
A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Inglewood Christian Reformed Church, 12330 - 113 Avenue, Edmonton.
