On September 25, 2014, Dorothy Kathleen Ayer of Edmonton passed away at the age of 81 years. She leaves to mourn her loss, six children, Susan Barylo (Marc) of Edmonton; Dr. Stephen Ayer of Halifax, NS; Judith Koncur (Joseph Medynski) of Lamont, AB; Andrew Ayer of Calgary, AB; Dr. Katherine Ayer-Lazaruk (Timothy) of Redwood City, California; and Carol Beringer of Calgary, AB; nine grandchildren, Genevieve, Alisha and Carolyn Ayer, Nicholas and Shannon Koncur, Rachel Ayer, Justin and Alison Lazaruk, and Christopher Beringer; four sisters, Eleanor Stillwell, Ruby MacNabb, Shirley Hovey (Gordon) and Nancy Costall (Douglas); sisters-in-law, Cora Monteith Nelson, Norma Monteith, Jean Monteith and Joan Monteith; close friends and loved ones, Roxanne Anderson Ayer, Kenneth Koncur, and Philip Boisvert.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. William Alfred Ayer in 2005; parents George and Margaret (nee Barter) Monteith; siblings, Donald Monteith, Elizabeth Hayes, James Monteith, John Monteith and David Monteith, as well as her grandson, David James Anderson Ayer.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014, at St. George’s Anglican Church in Edmonton, Alberta.
