It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Rita Burton of Edmonton on October 11, 2014 at the age of 79 years.

Rita will be lovingly remembered by her children: only daughter, Elaine (Lloyd) Burton of Rochester, AB, sons, John, Chris (Chrisy) and Adrian (Dale); grandchildren, Aaron and Chelsea all of Edmonton; brother, Frank; sister, Katharine (Roy); nephew Michael (Tanya) as well as numerous relatives and good friends.

Rita was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK. She was a city girl at heart. She graduated from St. Paul’s School of Nursing in Saskatoon as a Registered Nurse in 1957. Rita met her husband Rex soon after and they married in 1958. They soon started their family of four children with two grandchildren to later follow. Family meant everything to her.

She was predeceased by her husband Rex in 2003; parents, John and Rosa; and her sister-in-law, Germaine.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. Edmund Parish, 13120 – 116 Street NW, Edmonton with a luncheon and interment to follow.
