It is with heavy hearts that the family announces that Robert Butler passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at the age of 88 years.

Robert will live on through the memories of his loving family: wife of 65 years, Joyce; daughter, Laurel (Lance); four grandchildren: Jennifer (Robert) and Timothy (Kasey), Curtis and Justin; great-grandchildren: Sandra, Levi, James, Timothy Jr., and Abigail; sister-in-law, Lois; nephews: Robert (Tim), Jeffrey (Heidi), David (Brenda), sister-in-law Lois; Jim (Barb); and nieces, Janice and Ashley.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Marjorie; brothers, David and William; son-in-law, Sandor; sister-in-law, Evelyn; and nephew, Eric Butler.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Edmonton General for their exceptional care of Bob.

A Celebration of this great man’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ward 12Y at the Edmonton General Hospital c/o Michael Huang in honour of Bob’s 16 months in their excellent care.
