George Thasitis of Edmonton passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 70 years.

George will be lovingly remembered by his wife Georgina of 51 years; son Ilias (Colleen), children Yiorgos and Ilianna; daughter Joanna (Yanni), children Sophia and Georgo Ktistopoulos of Greece; mother Kiriakoula and sister Mary of Greece; brother Sotiri (Dina) and their three lovely children; numerous family and friends in Canada and Greece.

George was predeceased by father Ilias and brother Bill.

Geoge was born in Xanthi, Greece in 1944 to Ilias and Kiriakoula Thasitis. In 1963, George and Georgina came to Canada where he worked to create a life for his family. This allowed him to bring his brothers, and the entire family flourished. George was a patron, great friend and generous to many.

Trisagion Prayer Service will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 - 114 Street, Edmonton.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, 10831 - 124 Street, Edmonton with Father Elias Ferzli officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, 10132 - 163 St., Edmonton.
