On Wednesday, November 12, 2014, Barbara Prins passed on into glory. Barbara Haarsma was born in Edam, SK, and moved to Edmonton in her teens. She married Gerald Prins in 1952. Her life portrayed her love of family and her faith in God.

She is fondly remembered by her nine children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren: Corinne & Joe Baier (Ryan and Miranda Baier – Dylan, Sam; Nick & Becky Baier – Paige, Lukas, Charlotte; Joanna & James Lindemulder – Owen, Evan); Wayne & Leah Prins (Karen & Tysen Hantelmann – Renelle, Rylen; Jared & Cecilia Prins – Esme, Anica); Joan & Jason VanDoesburg (Jillian & Mark Bentum – Lauren, Jacob, Joseph; Joel VanDoesburg & Louise King; Jordan VanDoesburg & Cheryl Huitsing; Jamison VanDoesburg); Darrell Prins; Loretta & Doug Monsma (Tara & Derek Boonstra; Leanne Monsma & Ben Lindemulder; Erin Monsma); Arlene & Randy Kuzyk (Kyle, Kristin); Philip & Ingrid Prins (James, Benita, Elizabeth, Theresa, Gerald, Stephen, Joseph, Anthony, Philip); Charles Prins; Catharine & Mike Rozendaal (Meghan, Kate, Ethan).

Also survived by sister, Rita (Jim) Hanenburg; brother, Gary (Reta) Haarsma; and in-laws, Anne Haarsma, Allan Sonnema, Sam (Dora) Prins, Jake (Dena) Prins, Tiny Groen, Wijnie (Cees) DeKroon, Jan (Tiny) Prins.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Gerald, in 2005.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Foster & McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton.

Memorial Service on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church, 10956 96 Street, Edmonton. Private family burial will take place prior to the service.
