Friends and family say goodbye to Elizabeth Sidor (85) who passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at her home in Edmonton. Liz was born in Metiskow, AB in 1930 and as a child moved to Provost, attending high school in Three Hills, AB. In 1948 she moved to Edmonton to attend secretarial school. She married Nick in 1950. They lived in Fort McMurray and Newbrook before returning to Edmonton and settling in the McQueen neighbourhood. Liz volunteered, politically she became President of the Alberta Social Credit Party. She worked at NAIT and was instrumental in opening the Foundation Office. She and Nick traveled the world returning to King Coho in Comox BC for their summers.
Liz iwas predeceased by her husband, Nick. She is survived by her daughter, Regina (Norman) and son, Lowell. She was Grandma to Norman (Lauren), Stewart, Nicole, Danelle, and Andrea; Great Grandma or GG to Eileen; and friend to all. We will miss her humour, costumes, affection and Funny Suppers.
Special thanks to her devoted caregiver Evelyn and Radmilla and the ladies on the 14th floor for their help and kindness.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 114 Street, Edmonton, on Wednesday, June 29 at 2 p.m.
