The family of Lillian Shaben of Edmonton is saddened to announce her passing on Wednesday July 24, 2019 at the age of 101 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her many cousins, nephew’s and nieces as well as numerous great nephews, nieces and dear friends. Lillian was born on July 15, 1918 in Calgary Alberta to Hassan and Fatima Shaben, Lillian was predeceased by her brothers Sam, Alex, Lutfy and sister Adla.
Lillian lived a very independent life and enjoyed her freedom. She worked in an Iowa munitions factory during WWII and as a waitress for CP Hotels, Palliser, Chateau Lake Louise and the Empress in Victoria for many years. Lillian retired from Alberta Provincial Government Department of Mines and Minerals after 25 years of service. She was a Lifetime Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Strathcona Branch, Ladies Auxiliary.
Lillian has had a wanderlust to travel all her life and loved to meet people. We celebrate her and for 101 years of living life.
