Walter Ross

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Walter Hugh Ross on Sunday January 24, 2021 just days shy of his 97 birthday. Dad is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Eileen Ross; children, Michael (Kathie), Linda-Mae, Colleen, Mary-Anne (John), Jennifer (David), Patrick (Sherry), Margot (Mick) and D’Arcy (Patti); 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and a sister, Terri Clyne. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Alice; siblings, Donald, Gerald and Betty, and son, Hugh, and grandsons Ben and Anthony.

Dad spent his career as an insurance broker which allowed him to meet many people who became dear friends. He was very passionate about the organizations where he dedicated his time including the Churchill Society, Loyal Edmonton Regiment and the University of Alberta Senate.

We are so grateful that Dad was able to live in his home in large part thanks to the care and compassion he received from his GP, Dr Tom Ranieri and his caregivers, primarily Jenny Espejon and Ilora Catacutan.

A funeral service will be held on Monday February 1, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. and will be live streamed via https://www.facebook.com/events/458044355559769/
