On August 29, 2022 God took our beloved sister and aunt Carol Noppers, to her eternal home two days before her 62nd birthday.

She was born in Edmonton, attended East Christian School and Edmonton Christian High School and went on to work in the library of King's University. Later she became the office manager at Christian Labor Association of Canada (CLAC) for the past 32 years. Carol was thorough, diligent and detail orientated. What she didn't know, she learned and continued to grow in her knowledge and skills and taught them to others. She was an integral part of "bringing CLAC into the new age of technology. For us that is her permanent legacy" as stated by Co VanderLaan. She was deeply respected by those she worked for and with.

It was her family that was the highlight of her life. Carol looked after our parents as they aged and after dad died, made sure that mom was able to continue doing the things she loved. She loved having her nephews and nieces over to play Atari and play on her waterbed, and let them sleepover to attend volleyball camps. She created wedding booklets for those getting married and supported each couple with prayer and listening ears. Whatever the sport, Carol was there to watch and cheer them on and discuss the games after.

Living alone became more welcoming when she began adopting rescue dogs Vicky, Minke (who destroyed her house and was returned after a weekend), Molly, Sadie, Rainey, Coco who would welcome her home and be her listening ears. Carol had the travel bug. She even took courses to become a travel consultant but never worked in that field. It was trips to Mexico, Hawaii, Holland, Ireland, Scotland, France, Disney World, and across Canada and a few cruises that met her travel desires. Sunrise and sunset pictures were taken at every destination.

Carol played back catcher for the Ottewell church women's team and later played in a slow pitch league where she was known for her hitting ability. The Oilers, Edmonton Eskimos (Elks)and Blue Jays were her favorite teams to watch. Carol believed in God as her Lord and Savior and had a personal relationship with Him. Participating in church and worship were important to her and she served on council and was part of a praise team and a Bible study/ prayer group with women who became close friends. She learned to make crock pot soup as part of Mosaic house ministry. Now she is safe in the arms of Jesus.

Carol is survived by her sister Harriet Luymes, Daniel and Ingrid Luymes, Adam and Jonah, Patricia and David Schmidt, Christine Luymes, Robert and Kate Luymes, Eve, Aaron, Emma, Ayda, Valerie and Luuk VanAken, Cody and Mike and Elisa Luymes, Jordan, Elena, Jeremy and Cara, and her sister Gwen and Henry Luymes, Steven and Janine, Kim Keating, Noah, Kayden, Liam, Caitlin and Alfred Stegeman, Geoffrey and Brooklyn Luymes, and Trevor Luymes. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles and cousins. Carol was predeceased by her brother George (1974) her father George (1997), her mother Clarice (2002) and her brother-in-law August Luymes (2022) and numerous aunts and uncles.

Viewing will be held at Foster& McGarvey Edmonton South, 4820 Meridian Street NW on Thursday Sept 8, 2022 from 6 to 8 PM.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Foster& McGarvey Edmonton South at 1 PM on Friday, September 9, 2022.
