Gordon emigrated to Canada in 1954 with his first wife Ruth and 1 year old daughter, Judith, to be reunited with his brother Gerd.

Working for the radio station CHED for 5 years, and then 25 years with the Edmonton Journal, retiring in 1988.

After retiring, Gordon devoted his full time to music as a bandleader. He performed on radio and television, in nightclubs, and at various balls and Octoberfest celebrations.

Gordon is mourned by his loyal companion and common-law wife since 1983, Erna Dostal.

Also left to mourn Gordon are his daughters: Judith Tomlinson, Sylvia Klawitter, Bernice Dutton and Patricia Schmitt as well as their husbands; along with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A visitation prior to cremation will be held from 7:00PM – 9:00PM, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in Foster & McGarvey St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, AB.
